WOMAN FACES FELONY CHARGE FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT

      Sunday morning, June 18th, a 39 year old rural Mountain Home woman, SARAH LYNN SMITH, was arrested by Sheriff’s Corporal Kristofer Savino on a felony battery charge that occurred during an incident of domestic violence.

     Corporal Savino was dispatched at approximately 8:45 AM to an address on Elm Tree Lane on a complaint that a 73 year old woman had been assaulted and injured by another member of the family.  The offender was said to be SARAH LYNN SMITH.

     During the course of the investigation, Corporal Savino made contact with both the victim and with SARAH LYNN SMITH.  The investigation determined that the victim, who is wheelchair bound, was struck three times in the face by SARAH SMITH and sustained injuries.  Based upon the evidence, SARAH SMITH was arrested and taken into custody.  She was booked into the Detention Center on a felony charge of Domestic Battery in the Second Degree and is currently being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. SARAH SMITH will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer the charge on June 23rd.
