07/28/2016

Lawrence M. Jones

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 29 year old Mountain Home man, LAWRENCE MARSHALL JONES, on a felony charge of Forgery following an investigation into a fraudulent check he cashed at a Mountain Home Pawn Shop.

On June 9th, a representative of the pawn shop came to the Sheriff’s Office to report that LAWRENCE JONES had brought in a check in the amount of $2,200 that he wanted to cash.  The check was on a business from Houston, Texas, and JONES stated the check was for proceeds from stock transactions.

The check was subsequently found to be fraudulent and a forgery, and it was subsequently returned unpaid.

A warrant of arrest was obtained by LAWRENCE JONES, and he was arrested yesterday, July 27th, and booked into the Detention Center.  He was released after posting $5,000 bond through a bail bond company.  He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer today.
