Sheriff's Open House is Thursday

10/13/2015

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting an “Open House” event for the public on Thursday, October 15th.  The event, sponsored by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation, is being coordinated with the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours and will begin at 4:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM. The event will take place behind the Sheriff’s Administration Offices in front of the Detention Center Building.

Members of the public are invited to stop by and visit with Sheriff’s Office personnel, take a guided tour of the Detention Center, and enjoy a bologna sandwich, beans and cornbread, (jail food).  Live entertainment will be provided by the Mello Mountain Band, and there will be seating available or you can bring your own lawn chair.

Members of the Baxter County Sheriff’s Reserves, Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation, and Baxter County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) organization will have informational booths set up.  The Sheriff’s Reserves will be selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a Savage .243 caliber bolt-action rifle with scope.

Additional parking will be available at the Integrity First Bank parking lot located between Sixth and Seventh Streets (across from Mountain Home Fire Dept.), with shuttle service provided to the Sheriff’s Office grounds.

We hope to see everyone there.

*****Note**** In the past few days, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Personnel have recovered thousands of dollars of stolen items that were stolen from boat docks and storage buildings in the area. There are still several hundred items that have not been reported or claimed. We are asking the public to check to see if they are missing items from their boats, boat docks or storage buildings and if so come by the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Investigators will be here to assist the public in the recovery of their stolen items.
