LAKEVIEW MAN ARRESTED ON BURGLARY AND THEFT CHARGES

07/07/2015

Garrett Dean Marler

A Lakeview man, 22 year old GARRETT DEAN MARLER, has been arrested and is now in the Detention Center on several charges related to break-ins and thefts in the area.

The Sheriff’s Office has been investigating three separate incidents reported on June 3rd, June 5th, and June 10th.  On June 3rd, a victim reported that an 8 hp Johnson outboard motor had been stolen from his river boat.  This was valued at $1,100.00.  Investigators found that the motor had been sold to a scrap yard in Mountain Home by MARLER.

On June 5th, it was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a summer home had been broken into along with an outbuilding.  A golf bag and set of clubs had been stolen.  These were valued at $1,000.00.  A bed inside the residence was also found to have been slept in, and the shower had been used.  Investigators later determined that MARLER had been trying to sell the golf clubs at locations in Mountain Home and had in fact sold some golf clubs for $70.00.

On June 10th, it was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a lawnmower had been stolen from underneath the carport of a residence.  Investigators later found this stolen lawnmower in a wooded area.  There was evidence to link MARLER to this theft. The mower was valued at $100.00.

Investigators obtained a bench warrant for the arrest of GARRETT DEAN MARLER, and he was booked into the Detention Center on the afternoon of June 6th on charges of:

Residential Burglary – Felony
Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor

He is being held in lieu of $25,000.00 bond on these charges and will appear in Circuit Court to answer on July 18th.
