     A Cotter woman, 44 year old TONI KAY NORDYKE, was arrested Wednesday evening, February 4th, after officers from several agencies served a search warrant at her residence at 1177 West Main Street, Apt. #2, in the City of Cotter.

     Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant from a judicial officer after compiling evidence indicating that TONI NORDYKE was involved in narcotics activity.  Sheriff’s Investigators received information of possible illegal drug activity at this address and began working surveillance.  Investigators also collected garbage from the residence on three separate occasions between January 12th and January 26th that had been set out on the curb for pick-up.  Contained in the garbage from NORDYKE’S residence was evidence of methamphetamine and marijuana use. 

     The search warrant was executed at approximately 4:50 PM Wednesday afternoon.  During the course of the search, officers found multiple articles of drug paraphernalia, including scales, spoons, and baggies that tested positive for methamphetamine residue.  Officers also found a small amount of marijuana and marijuana smoking devices, as well as more than 70 prescription pills, including those identified as Tramadol and Alprazolam, both schedule IV controlled substances.  The residence where the narcotics activity was occurring was within 1,000 feet of a church.

     TONI KAY NORDYKE was arrested and incarcerated in the Detention Center on charges of:

Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Tramadol) With Purpose of Delivery  – Felony Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Alprazolam) With Purpose of Delivery – Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Possession of Controlled Substance (Marijuana) – Misdemeanor
Proximity to Certain Facilities – Enhanced Penalty Provision

     TONI NORDYKE was released from custody at approximately 9:15 PM Wednesday after posting $25,000 bond.  She will appear in Circuit Court to answer on February 12th. 

     Agencies involved in the investigation, search, and arrest were the Cotter Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
