ARREST MADE IN THEFT OF SILVER COINS AND SILVER BARS

06/02/2014

Mitchell David Teconchuk

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested an 18 year old rural Mountain Home man, MITCHELL DAVID TECONCHUK, on charges related to the theft of items from a locked safe inside a residence on Mudridge Lane near Mountain Home.

It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on May 11th by a homeowner that someone had broken into his safe and stolen silver coins, silver certificates, silver bars, a 12 gauge shotgun, a .38 caliber pistol, and other items valued collectively at more than $20,000.  The owner suspected that MITCHELL TECONCHUK, who had previously been at the residence, was involved, and the Sheriff’s Office began to investigate the complaint.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Officer discovered that TECONCHUK had pawned several silver bars and silver coins at two separate pawn shops between April 30th and May 7th.  One of these pawn shops had also bought similar items from another person.  This person was contacted and told investigators he had pawned or sold the items at the request of TECONCHUK.

A bench warrant was obtained from the Baxter County Circuit Court on May 17th, and it was served on MITCHELL TECONCHUK on May 30th.  TECONCHUK has been held in the Baxter County Detention Center since then in lieu of $50,000 bond on charges of:

Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony

TECONCHUK will appear in Circuit Court on June 19th to answer.
