JAIL INMATE CHARGED GETS NEW FELONY THEFT CHARGE ADDED

     A current Baxter County Jail inmate, 30 year old MATTHEW EDISON TILLERY of Cotter, who has been incarcerated since May 20th on a parole violation and for revocation of suspended sentence, has been charged additionally with felony theft.

     On May 12, 2014, it was reported to the Sheriff's Office that a 2014 Bass Cat Puma boat with a Yamaha 250hp outboard motor and trailer had been stolen from Bass Cat Boats in Midway.  Later that afternoon, the Sheriff's Office was notified by the owner of Bass Cat Boats that he had located the stolen boat at a resort in the Oakland area of Marion County.  The owner of the resort told authorities that he had purchased the boat for $2,000 after it was taken there by MATTHEW TILLERY

     Earlier the same day, the Sheriff's Office had recovered a truck that had been reported stolen in Ozark County, Missouri.  The resort owner indicated that MATTHEW TILLERY was driving this truck when he pulled the boat there. 

     During a custodial interview on May 28th, TILLERY admitted to stealing the boat from Bass Cat Boats and taking it to Oakland.  The value of the stolen boat, motor, and trailer was $72,400.00. 

     TILLERY is charged additionally with Theft of Property - Class B Felony, with a bond of $50,000.  He will appear in Circuit Court to answer this charge at a later date.
