WOMAN INJURED AFTER APPARENTLY JUMPING FROM MOVING VEHICLE

A 31 year old Jonesboro woman, RACHAEL L. BROOKS-MORGAN, was airlifted by air ambulance this afternoon to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri after it was reported that she intentionally jumped from a moving vehicle on the Lake Norfork Bridge on U. S. Highway 62/412 in Henderson.

According to the woman’s husband, 33 year old JOHNATHAN C. MORGAN of Jonesboro, who was the driver of the vehicle, being a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, they were crossing the bridge heading West when his wife suddenly opened the door and jumped from the vehicle.  The vehicle was estimated to be in motion at approximately 50 miles per hour at the time.

Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency medical personnel with Baxter Regional Medical Center and the Henderson Fire Department responded to the scene after receiving the call at approximately 4:55 PM.  An air ambulance with Air-Evac was subsequently dispatched to transport the victim.  The condition of the victim is not known at this time.

The matter is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police.
