JACOB DEAL LANGSTON, 27 years old of Baxter County, was arrested this afternoon for violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act after the Sheriff's Office received information that he was not residing at his stated address in Norfork.

JACOB LANGSTON had registered as a Level 3 (high risk to re-offend) Sex Offender with the Sheriff's Office, stating he resided at 16710 Highway 5 South in the Norfork community.  LANGSTON had been convicted on April 29, 2008 in Izard County of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, Robbery, and other charges.  Documentation indicated that JACOB LANGSTON had beaten and sexually assaulted an adult female victim.

The Sheriff's Office was notified this afternoon by the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections that they received information that LANGSTON was no longer living in Norfork but was in fact residing at the Bungalow Resorts on Cranfield Road, which is East of Mountain Home.

Sheriff's Investigators went to Unit #9 at the Bungalow Resorts and inquired of the occupant, identified as 46 year old SHERRY WANNETTE DICKERSON, as to whether or not JACOB LANGSTON was there.  According to Investigators, SHERRY DICKERSON denied that LANGSTON was there or had been residing there.  Authorities were ultimately allowed to search the residence, and they found JACOB LANGSTON hiding in the bedroom.  It is believed he had been living there for approximately three weeks.

JACOB LANGSTON was arrested and transported to the Detention Center and booked in on a charge of:

Failure to Register as Sex Offender - Felony

His bond was set at $15,000, and he will appear in Circuit Court on February 20th.

SHERRY DICKERSON was arrested and taken to the Detention Center on a charge of:

Obstructing Governmental Operations - Misdemeanor.

Her bond was $270, and she will appear in District Court on March 6th.
