SHERIFF'S OFFICE RESPONDS TO UNATTENDED DEATH CALL TUESDAY AFTERNOON

    The Sheriff’s Office responded to an unattended death Tuesday afternoon at 229 CR 672, #2.  The 911 Center received a call at approximately 4:38 PM  from a lady who had gone to that address to check the welfare of 24 year old JAY M. HOLLAND, whose family had not heard from him in several days.

     Sheriff’s Deputy Doug Meurer arrived at the residence and found the body of JAY HOLLAND in the bedroom.  It appeared that he had been deceased for some time.  Sheriff’s Investigators were summoned to the scene as was the Baxter County Coroner’s Office. 

     The body of the deceased has been sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.  There were no signs of trauma present and no indicators of foul play at the scene.  The case will remain open until the results of the autopsy are made available.
