Alec Robert Johnson

A rural Mountain Home man, 23 year old ALEC ROBERT JOHNSON, has been incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center on multiple charges related to the break-in of vehicles and theft of contents.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 17th, Sheriff’s Sergeant Ken Grayham took a complaint from a resident at 1255 CR 643 indicating that a vehicle had been entered into and a purse stolen.  The purse contained credit cards, a social security card, and other documents.  Later the same day, another person from the same vicinity reported the theft of two muzzle loader rifles from his vehicle.

Contemporaneous to these reports, Sgt. Grayham also took a report from a nearby resident at 277 CR 1077 indicating that she found credit cards in her son’s bed that did not belong to him.  Those credit cards were found to be in the name of the victim on CR 643.  Further searching of the residence uncovered the stolen muzzle loaders in the suspect’s bedroom.  The suspect was not present at the time the stolen items were found.

At approximately 2:00 AM the morning of December 18th, Sheriff’s Deputy Chuck Menschik responded to a complaint call from 277 CR 1077 indicating that ALEC ROBERT JOHNSON was trying to get inside the residence.  Deputy Menschik was able to locate JOHNSON and detain him.  JOHNSON was subsequently found to have controlled substance (Xanax) in his possession.  JOHNSON was taken into custody on the drug charge and transported to the Detention Center.  Sheriff’s Investigators also filed charges related to the break-ins and thefts that had been reported previously.

ALEC ROBERT JOHNSON is being held in lieu of $35,000 bond on charges of:

Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony
Theft of Property (2 counts) – Misdemeanors
Criminal Mischief – Misdemeanor
Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance  - Misdemeanor
Probation Violation – Misdemeanor

JOHNSON will appear in Circuit Court on December 19th.
