Two Baxter County residents are incarcerated in the Detention Center after being arrested yesterday, December 2nd, on charges related to the burglary of two separate residences.  On November 4, 2013, a homeowner on Baxter CR 254 reported to the Sheriff’s Office that there was an engagement ring and Tom Tom GPS unit missing from her residence.  These items were valued at approximately $600.00.  The victim advised Sheriff’s Investigators of two potential suspects who had been in her home prior to these items becoming missing.

On November 18, 2013, the same victim reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a check had been written and forged on her personal bank account in the amount of $180.00.  The check had been made payable to one of the suspects she had previously named, being NICOLE AMBER SIENKO.  The check was cashed at a Mountain Home bank, and the teller at the drive-thru recorded the license plate number on the vehicle.

After receiving this information, Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Brad Hurst went to an address in Salesville in an attempt to locate NICOLE SIENKO.  While at this location, he observed a vehicle bearing the same license plate number that the bank teller had written down.   NICOLE SIENKO was not found at that time, however the registered owner of the vehicle informed Sgt. Hurst that he had transported SIENKO in his vehicle to the bank to cash the check and that she was accompanied by another man, identified as JONATHAN M. PORTER.  Several days prior to transporting SIENKO and PORTER to the bank, the vehicle owner had reported to the Sheriff’s Office on November 13, 2013 that some fishing equipment had been stolen from his own residence on Highway 5 South in Salesville.  These items were valued at approximately $60.00.

On December 2, 2013, Sgt. Hurst interviewed NICOLE SINKO and JONATHAN PORTER about these incidents.  During the interview, NICOLE SIENKO admitted to stealing the engagement ring from the residence on CR 254, as well as stealing and forging the $180.00 check and cashing it at the bank.  SIENKO and JONATHAN PORTER also admitted to pawning the ring at a local pawn shop, and PORTER admitted that both of them had entered the second residence and stole the fishing equipment.

NICOLE AMBER SIENKO, 24 years old of Salesville, Arkansas, has been charged with:

Residential Burglary – Class B Felony
Forgery in the Second Degree – Class C Felony
Theft of Property (2 counts) – Class A Misdemeanors

She is being held in lieu of $20,000.00 bond and will appear in Circuit Court on December 5th.

JONATHAN MATTHEW PORTER, 22 years old of Norfork, has been charged with:

Residential Burglary – Class B Felony
Theft of Property (2 counts) – Class A Misdemeanors

He is being held in lieu of $10,000.00 bond and will also appear in Circuit Court on December 5th.
