TRAVIS ARMISTEAD, 30 years old of Jordan, Arkansas was arrested this afternoon by Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputies after he was found to have stolen a 2005 Dutchman Travel Trailer valued at $5,000 from a storage facility near the Rolling Meadows subdivision off Highway 62 East of Mountain Home.

The travel trailer was stolen sometime between November 17th and 9:30 AM on November 18th according to the owner.  At approximately 2:00 PM today, the owner’s son spotted the travel trailer at Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Mountain Home.  When deputies arrived at the location, they found TRAVIS ARMISTEAD, who had hooked the travel trailer up to his truck but had run out of fuel.

TRAVIS ARMISTEAD was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office.  During interview by Investigator Brad Lewis, ARMISTEAD admitted to stealing the travel trailer because he did not have anywhere to live or stay.  He has been incarcerated in the Detention Center on a charge of Theft of Property – Class C Felony, with a bond of $10,000.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on November 21st to answer the charge.
