BAXTER COUNTY WOMAN DIES FROM SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND

     A Baxter County woman has died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  On Sunday, October 20th, at approximately 2:13 PM the Sheriff’s Office responded to 2575 CR 15 north of Midway in response to a call from a man stating he had found his wife inside one of their vehicles on their property with a gunshot wound when he returned home.

     Deputies responded and found 53 year old KATHLEEN J. WEDGE in the vehicle.  Deputies recovered a Charter Arms .38 caliber revolver at that location.  KATHLEEN WEDGE was seriously injured, and she was transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center.  She was later air lifted to Cox South in Springfield, Missouri.  The Sheriff’s Office was notified this morning that she had succumbed to the wound and passed away.  There was no indication of foul play.  The Midway Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted at the scene.
