Christopher James Cockrum

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 25 year old CHRISTOPHER JAMES COCKRUM of rural Mountain Home on two misdemeanor charges after receiving a complaint that COCKRUM had directed his children to throw rocks at a neighbor’s vehicle.

Sheriff’s Sergeant Ken Grayham responded to 393 CR 916 on July 7th at approximately 5:30 PM in response to a complaint call concerning CHRISTOPHER COCKRUM and his children.  According to the complaining party, COCKRUM and his children came to the residence attempting to pick a fight.  COCKRUM allegedly directed his children to throw rocks at a Ford Explorer owned by the complaining party.  The vehicle was dented several times by the rocks.  When the complainant attempted to intervene, he was threatened with injury by COCKRUM

Sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Terry Johnson obtained a statement from an eyewitness, who provided corroboration to the complainant’s report.  A Warrant of Arrest was then obtained from the District Court, and CHRISTOPHER COCKRUM was arrested this afternoon on charges of:

Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree – Class A Misdemeanor Terroristic Threatening – Class A Misdemeanor

COCKRUM was booked into the Detention Center in lieu of $2,500 bond.  He will appear in District Court on August 22nd.  Damage to the vehicle was estimated to be approximately $1,500.
