A Mountain Home area woman, 21 year old VANESSA RENEE HENSCHEL, was arrested Friday morning on burglary and theft charges after she broke into a private residence and stole medications.

At approximately 10:09 AM on July 26th, the Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a person residing at 451 Timberland Road who stated he had just returned home and had heard someone run out his back door and he found his medication was missing.

Sheriff's Investigators Lt. Terry Johnson and Sgt. Brad Hurst were in the immediate area and responded to the call.  While checking the area, they observed a building at the intersection of Cannie Baker Rd. and Timberlane Trl. that had a door standing open.  While checking that building, they observed a woman coming out of a pole barn that was next door to the victim's residence.  This person was carrying a cloth bag and a large plastic drinking mug.

The Investigators made contact with this woman and inquired if she lived at the residence she was coming from.  She was hesitant to answer and would not provide her name.  However, she subsequently admitted coming from the victim's residence, and she had his prescription medication bottles and medication in her possession.  She was identified as VANESSA RENEE HENSCHEL, and she was taken into custody.  Investigators later learned that she had also taken clothing and a gas can from another person's barn.

HENSCHEL was transported to the Detention Center and incarcerated on charges of:

Residential Burglary - Felony
Breaking or Entering (3 counts) - Felonies
Theft of Property (2 counts) - Misdemeanors
Possession of Controlled Substance - Felony
Obstructing Governmental Operations - Misdemeanor

VANESSA RENEE HENSCHEL was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond, with an appearance in Circuit Court set for August 15th.
