SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEES MODERATELY BUSY HOLIDAY PERIOD

     The Sheriff’s Office experienced a moderately busy Independence Day holiday weekend.  From Thursday July 4th through Sunday, July 7th, the Sheriff’s Office took 120 complaint calls or calls for service.

     There were a total of 26 persons booked into the Detention Center on various charges from all local agencies, including 12 bookings by Sheriff’s Deputies.  Overall bookings from all agencies included:

Driving While Intoxicated                           6

Public Intoxication                                      5

Possession of Drugs                                  1

Domestic Violence Charges                       3

     Sheriff’s Deputies issued a total of 26 citations for various traffic and misdemeanor charges, as well as 16 warnings for traffic offenses.  In addition to the normal patrols, additional deputies were patrolling the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers parks and campgrounds under contract.  The Sheriff’s Office boat was used on Lake Norfork during the fireworks event on July 3rd.
