On Tuesday, October 23 at approximately 4:45 pm, Baxter County Deputy Doug Meurer was dispatched to a report of an abandoned vehicle at Steve’s Satellite on Hwy 62 East, Mountain Home.  The vehicle, a 2003 Ford Mustang was believed to have been sitting in the business parking lot since Sunday.   Deputy Meurer found the Mustang unlocked with the keys in the ignition, a guitar in the back seat, a wallet and more than $150 cash in the car. When Deputy Meurer ran the vehicle license through the Arkansas Crime Information Center, ACIC, an alert showed the vehicle belonged to a missing Gosnell, Arkansas Man who had been missing since Sunday.  A search of the local business's surveillance cameras and a search of the immediate area revealed nothing.

The Police Chief of Gosnell was contacted and he traveled to Mountain Home, arriving approximately 9 pm to assist with the investigation. Investigators worked well into the night searching for Wilson or clues as to his whereabouts.  The investigation revealed that the missing man, 21 year old Joshua Lynn Wilson had left his home in Gosnell Sunday morning. Video surveillance showed Wilson getting money from an ATM in Gosnell and that was the last anyone had any contact with him.

The Ford Mustang is believed to have arrived in Mountain Home and parked at the business between 1 and 3 pm on Sunday.  The Mustang had very little fuel in the tank but appeared to be in good mechanical condition.  Several leads were followed up on; however there were no known acquaintances or ties to the Mountain Home area.

The Baxter County Helicopter was launched along with deputies to begin a more thorough search of the area. At approximately 9:55 am, 911 received a call of a man who appeared to be unconscious on Marquis Drive, East of Mountain Home, approximately 1 ½ miles from where the Mustang was found.  The man was in a pair of gym shorts with no shirt or shoes and appeared extremely disoriented and was unable or unwilling to provide Deputies or Investigators with his name or how he got there. Gosnell Police Chief,  Bobby Trump arrived at the scene and positively identified the man as Joshua Wilson.

Wilson was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was charged with: Criminal Trespass and Public Intoxication.

Wilson was released to His father after posting a $440 bond pending his appearance in Baxter County District Court on November 15th.
