JORDAN AREA MAN ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY AND THEFT

     MASON MICHAEL SEAY, 25 years old of Jordan, Arkansas was arrested Monday evening on charges of Residential Burglary and Theft of Property after it was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that he had been discovered inside a private residence on State Highway 177 South the previous day.

     The homeowners told Sheriff’s Investigators they had returned home at approximately 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 30th.  When they entered their home, they heard someone run down the stairs.  The homeowner gave chase and caught MASON MICHAEL SEAY as he ran out.  SEAY was known to the homeowners and gave an excuse as to why he was in their home.  The homeowner permitted SEAY to leave the residence and did not immediately contact law enforcement.

     After SEAY left, the homeowners discovered 16 one dollar coins missing as well as a diamond ring valued at $2,000.00.  MASON SEAY contact the homeowner on the afternoon of October 1st and told them he had the stolen property and would return it.  The homeowner then contacted the Sheriff’s Office so that officers could be present when SEAY came to their home to return the property.  When SEAY arrived, he was arrested without incident and taken to the Detention Center.  MASON SEAY was also a suspect in a shoplifting incident of a cell phone that had been reported by the Dollar General Store in Salesville,  and SEAY admitted to Sheriff’s Investigators his involvement in that incident. 

     MASON MICHAEL SEAY is currently incarcerated in the Detention Center with bond set at $25,000 on charges of:

Residential Burglary – Felony

Theft of Property (2 counts) – Felonies

Theft of Property – Misdemeanor

     SEAY will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on October 4th.
