The Baxter County Sheriff's Office and the Citizens Fighting Crime Organization is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the two men responsible for the robbery of the A & W Restaurant in Gassville, Arkansas.  Anyone wishing to come forward with information, but wishes to remain anonymous, may still be eligible for the reward.

This case has gone cold and Sheriff's Investigators are asking the public's help.  Anyone with information on this case, no matter how small or insignificant it might seem, is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office with the information.

HOT CASE:

On March 28, 2009 at approximately 11:54 PM, two masked men entered the A. & W. Restaurant in Gassville through the back door.  They went to the restaurant office where the on duty Manager and another employee were closing out the receipts of the days' business.

One of these intruders was armed with a black handgun.  Both were wearing masks and gloves.  They took the cell phones of both employees to keep them from calling for help.  The Manager was ordered to try and open the safe.  When he could not gain complete access to the safe, he was struck in the back of the head with the handgun.  Both A. & W employees were then taken and put in the freezer and told to remain there.

The intruders then used a pry bar to open the cash registers.  A total or $1,483.23 in cash was stolen.  After about ten minutes, the restaurant employees came out of the freezer and called the 911 center.  Responding law enforcement personnel were unable to locate any persons matching the descriptions given in the immediate area.

Sheriff's Investigators have been following up on the robbery since that time.  Several interviews have been conducted, and evidence from the crime scene was collected and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for analysis.   Investigators are still awaiting the results.

Any person who has any information concerning this robbery is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at 870-425-7000 or you can leave a tip on the Sheriff's Office Tip Hot Line at 870-424-4636.  All assistance will be greatly appreciated.
